How do we ensure quality in Parent to Parent support?
Research has informed us as to how best to prepare Support Parents, match families, and follow-up with both referred and Support Parents. Through technical assistance, mentorship and support Parent to Parent USA helps programs implement these practices.

How do Parent to Parent programs connect with programs in other states?
Through the Director’s Listserv*, Parent to Parent leaders can build partnerships and access technical assistance with other experienced programs, exchange valuable information and resources and stay abreast of the latest developments in family support.

What are Annual Leadership Meetings and who attends them?
Once a year, programs that are registered with Parent to Parent USA are invited to attend our Annual Leadership Meeting where program leaders learn about latest trends in funding and research, share resources and build strong partnerships.  Our 2009 meeting was held in Austin, Texas and the 2010 Director’s Leadership Meeting has not been scheduled.

How can statewide Parent to Parent programs find the right match for EVERY parent that calls?
The Matching Listserv* is the lifeline for registered Parent to Parent programs that are looking for matches for families who have children with rare disorders. The Matching Listserv is the connecting link between all registered programs to access support when local peer support is not available.
