SUMMARY:P2P USA Coffee Talk - Small Practices\, Big Difference: Strengthening Family Support with DEC Recommended Practices
DESCRIPTION:The DEC Recommended Practices provide guidance to improve outcomes for young children with disabilities and their families by promoting high-quality early intervention and early childhood special education. In this session\, participants from Parent to Parent USA state affiliate organizations will gain an overview of the DEC Recommended Practices and explore how these practices align with family support and family leadership work. Through discussion and real-world examples\, participants will learn how the practices can be used to strengthen family-centered services\, support partnerships between families and professionals\, and promote equitable\, inclusive systems of care. Participants will also explore practical strategies for integrating the DEC Recommended Practices into peer support programs\, family engagement efforts\, and collaboration with early intervention partners.
