Parenting CYSHCN often requires intense engagement to maintain the health and well-being of their children. Positive paternal engagement strongly contributes to overall family well-being, yet the individual needs and constraints of male caregivers of CYSHCN have not been consistently recognized.

Workshop participants will hear from a diverse panel of fathers on their relationship with their child with special health care needs, the barriers they face to be active participants in supporting their child, and what makes for a “father-friendly” environment.

Parent to Parent staff will offer strategies for MCH programs to become more inclusive of fathers through partnerships with community organizations and fathers themselves.
