4-Part Webinar Series: Emerging Threats to Infants and Children

The AAP continues its virtual four-part series designed for pediatric and family clinicians, as well as family advocates and clinical and non-clinical health professionals. Each session offers practical, evidence-based approaches to prevention, screening, diagnosis, follow-up, and family engagement.

• September 14 (12:00–1:00 PM CT): Partnering for Maternal/Infant Health: Vaccine Preventable Diseases
• September 21 (12:00–1:00 PM CT): Responding to Rising Perinatal Hepatitis C

• Call for Proposals — Indigenous Child Health: Proposals remain open across all disciplines working with Indigenous children, youth, and families for the 12th International Meeting on Indigenous Child Health (scheduled for May 28–30, 2027 in Portland, OR).

• Foodborne Outbreak Alerts (Red Book Online): AAP has released updated surveillance guidance regarding multi-state outbreaks, including Salmonella and E. coli infections linked to produce and fresh goods, as well as updated resolutions on recent infant botulism and Listeria investigations.
• Ongoing Measles Surveillance & Toolkit: With measles cases continuing to present high risks nationwide, clinicians and parent networks are encouraged to utilize AAP’s clinical toolkits and community-facing resources to bolster vaccine confidence and early symptom recognition.
• Vector-Borne Disease Updates: As late-summer insect and tick activity peaks, pediatric providers can access centralized management guidelines and preventive counseling tools via the AAP Patient Care portal.
• Perinatal & Infant Health Guidance: In-depth resources on managing infant exposures to congenital infections—including updated testing schedules and multidisciplinary coordination between pediatricians and local public health programs.
