A coordinated initiative connecting families navigating pediatric neurologic conditions with one-to-one peer mentoring, trusted educational resources, and clinician support.
Navigating a pediatric neurological diagnosis can often feel overwhelming and isolating for families and caregivers. To help bridge that gap, the Child Neurology Foundation (CNF) and Parent to Parent USA (P2P USA) have announced an expanded collaboration designed to broaden access to educational resources and one-to-one peer support across the United States.
Building on an established relationship, this joint initiative combines CNF’s national reach and clinical network with P2P USA’s grass-roots community alliances.
Key Focus Areas: Peer Support and Education
While the broader partnership framework outlines six shared long-term goals—spanning early family support, transition of care, peer mentoring, research, and advocacy—the initial phase prioritizes two core objectives:
- Expanding Access to Peer Mentoring (Goal 1): Making it easier for families connected with CNF to locate and connect with local P2P Alliance Member programs and trained Support Parents who share lived experiences.
- Extending Education and Professional Development (Goal 5): Broadening the reach of CNF’s educational tools through P2P USA’s community networks, creating tailored learning resources for caregivers, and helping healthcare professionals integrate peer support referrals directly into patient care.
Voices from Leadership
“CNF’s national presence and Parent to Parent USA’s locally rooted programs are a powerful combination. We complement one another in ways that can expand our reach and impact while allowing each organization to build on what it already does well. Beginning with family support and education gives us a thoughtful place to start.”
— Marsha Quinn, Executive Director, Parent to Parent USA
“Together, CNF and Parent to Parent USA bring national and community-level experience that can strengthen care and support across the country. This collaboration gives us an opportunity to connect more people with education and peer support informed by both professional expertise and lived experience.”
— Kim Hindery, CEO, Child Neurology Foundation
Building a Stronger Support Network
This expanded alliance deepens existing ties between the two organizations:
- P2P USA is a member of CNF’s Neurology Social Services Network, which unites organizations across the neurology community to coordinate care, share knowledge, and streamline referrals.
- CNF serves as an official Friend of Parent to Parent USA.
As this phase rolls out, both organizations will explore shared funding opportunities to support implementation and prepare for upcoming phases of the framework.
