Study Opportunity for Families of Young Children with Rare Conditions or Developmental Delays

Parent to Parent USA is sharing a research opportunity from RTI International and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

The Parent and Infant Inter(X)action Intervention (PIXI) program recruiting families of young children with rare neurogenetic conditions to participate in an interview to better understand the experiences of families in receiving their child’s diagnosis and accessing early intervention services.  Interviews will be offered in both English and Spanish.

What is PIXI?

PIXI is a fully remote, 20-session intervention program designed to support new caregivers with the diagnosis and teach parents about early development, their child’s diagnosis, and play-based strategies to support their learning and development.

Who is eligible?

  • Families of children under 9 years old with rare neurogenetic conditions, including 22Q Deletion, Williams, Downs, Fragile X, Angelman, Prader-Willi, and Dup 15Q.
  • Families of children under 3 without a diagnosis, that have accessed early intervention for a developmental delay.
